FirstBlock is a consultancy working on AI and blockchain for corporate clients, helping businesses apply the technologies to problems they already have.

FirstBlock-athon is its own initiative, run as part of the FirstBlock Impact series and powered by Nordic Tech Week 2026.

An event instead of a client project

A consultancy solving problems for paying clients is a familiar model. Opening the same problems to developers, founders, researchers, startups, enterprises and creators for four days is not.

The stated goal is solutions with measurable impact on future generations — a longer horizon than a consulting engagement usually works to, and a different test of whether something is worth building.

Where it sits

FirstBlock-athon runs 7–11 September in Stockholm. Of the eight areas participants can work in, only two are finance.
